As you know, the benefits of working out are countless. Starting with positive changes that occur at a micro-molecular level, exercise has many positive effects on our health, lifestyle, and energy throughout the day.
We can train in many ways, depending on the environment, the equipment we use, goals and available time.
In this blog, we will be covering some of these.
Advantages
- Fitness experts agree that bodyweight training is great for beginners since it lowers the risks of injury.
- You can practice bodyweight training in any kind of environment since you are mainly focusing on using your own body weight. That means you also don’t need a lot of space.
- You don’t require any equipment or it can be used at a minimal level.
- With bodyweight exercises, you can focus on weight loss, body sculpting, and conditioning.
- You don’t waste time driving yourself to the gym and back since you can exercise in your home, backyard, office etc.
Disadvantages
- After a while, you will stop seeing results because you have plateaued. In other words, you reached the stage where your body stops showing results. This happens because moving your body weight doesn’t represent a challenge to your muscular system anymore. You can only overcome this by starting to add weights to your training routine.
- These exercises are beneficial for only a short period of time because as you get stronger your body gets accustomed to its own resistance.
Final Thought and Disclaimer

Here we are only focusing on the basics of bodyweight training, addressing the average individual. We don’t mean any disrespect to calisthenics or gymnastics. Quite the contrary, we have a great respect for everyone involved in these sports. We admire everyone who is being physically active in any kind of way.
In this blog, we are only covering the benefits of using body weight, emphasizing this activity can be done without the use of any equipment (bars, equalizers, rings and any other equipment).
